Four Tet is a master mind. Not only a producers producer but a genius of our time. From his last stand out project ‘New Energy’ he moves in to ‘Sixteen Oceans’ with classic Kieran Hebden clarity. We may be living through uncertain and challenging times but that is when music becomes ever more important. This album feels serendipitous. Like it was meant to be here for us, for this very moment. Run a bath, light a candle, open a window, play this through your favourite speakers and remember the simple things that really matter.

With xylophone attitude, ‘School’ opens the album before moving in to ‘Baby’ with Ellie Goulding’s hauntingly defined vocals. ‘Harpsichord’ is not only deeply healing but a real stand out track followed by ‘Teenage Birdsong’ that has already made it’s mark and known by so many. On this album Four Tet manages to effortlessly float between tracks you know you will see him play on festival stages to music that you can meditate to. Gently reminding us of the power of not only nature but the elements that we so often forget about when stuck in a technological bubble. Other stand out tracks to note are ‘4T Recordings’ and ‘Mama Teaches Sanskrit’.

This is an album to get lost in. An album to listen to on repeat but most importantly an album to share with the people that you love.
